Nothing but fringe
Sep. 15th, 2009 11:21 pmOn the web site of the Austin-American Statesman today I saw this story: Some in GOP fear damage by fringe elements. And I had to laugh, because...what "fringe" are they talking about? I'm 40, and I can't remember a time when the Republican party not only tolerated but encouraged and relied upon race-baiting, misogyny, homophobia, militant nativism, and Christian supremacy as the bread and butter of its day-to-day political life.
Worried about the fringe? The GOP is nothing but fringe.
( I mean, it's practically a car wash, ladies and gentlemen. )
